OUR GREEN CREDENTIALS
At Little Trove we believe in respecting and looking after the environment. We do this because our Earth has limited resources and we all need to do our bit to protect it for future generations. This is how we do it.
1. RE-USING PACKAGING
You can imagine the amount of cartons, boxes, bubble wrap, foam and plastic we get through our door. Every consignment of goods whether from India or the UK comes to us well packaged to reduce damage to the goods. We, in turn, send as much of that packaging back out the door when we pack our customers’ orders.
We re-use all bubble wrap rather than sending these non-biodegradable plastics to landfill.
We also reuse boxes and cartons. When you buy a product from us, you may notice that your items come to you in a box, which doesn’t look as pretty as a new shiny box. We do our best to remove all old tape and labels on the box. Ultimately, we believe that re-using the boxes is the best use of resources, even if there is a compromise to be made on look. We hope that our dear customers will in turn re-use the boxes or recycle them.
2. COLLABORATION WITH LOCAL BUSINESS
We collaborate with Fone Works, a mobile phone repair company in Stoke-on-Trent, to recycle their packaging materials. We collect their boxes and bubblewrap and re-use them when packing our orders. This means that FoneWorks does not have to dispose of them and we do not have to waste resources buying boxes and bubble wrap when we run out.

This collaboration has been running for many months and works well for both businesses. If you are a business that generates packaging waste that we could reuse, please contact us!
3. RECYCLING WASTE AT THE WAREHOUSE
We pay extra to have commercial recycling bins at our office/warehouse.
We recycle all:
4. MINIMISING ENERGY USE
At Little Trove, we are mindful of our consumption of energy. We switch off all appliances at the end of the day, we only use lights when needed, we don’t leave all sections of the warehouse lit when not in use, we set heating at moderate levels and turn them off when no longer needed.
We are also conscious of water usage and never leave taps running unnecessarily. If we owned our building we would invest in solar panels or wind turbines!
5. NATURAL AND RECYCLED PRODUCTS
When sourcing for products, we always look for products made from natural, recycled or organic materials. For example, our candles are organic, our textiles are cotton and our wooden products are made from sustainable wood.
We are always looking for ways to improve our green credentials, so do let us know if you have an idea!
